It feels good to hear from readers. It feels good to make connections with other kindred spirits.
A week or so ago, I was awarded the Uber Amazing Blog Award by Sarah at Tales of a Kitchen Herbwife. She and I both share a passion for the family Rosaceae: apples, rowans, hawthorns, quinces, raspberries, roses. (Scroll down the side of her blog to see the photos of freshly gathered hawthorn and rowan berries and the gorgeous rosehips!)
What a treat to receive an award! The rules are:
-
Put the award logo on your blog or post (right click on award, save as)
-
Nominate at least 1 blog that you consider to be Uber Amazing!
- Let them know that they have received this Uber Amazing award by commenting on their blog
- Share the love and link to this post and to the person you received your award from.
Since I have this opportunity to draw your attention to a couple of blogs, I'd like to give the Uber Amazing Blog Award to:
El at Fast Grow the Weeds because I'm learning from her about extending the harvest with greenhouses, and she loves green plant energy as much as I do. (Now, if I could only get my daughter to eat greens like her daughter does, we'd be in good shape over here at the GrowingCurious house.) Plus, if you ever get a chance to chat with El via email, you'll feel her splendid presence with you, no matter the distance.
Have you met Fiona over at The Cottage Smallholder? I found her this year when I was searching for advice on fun things to do with crabapples, and I kick myself for not finding her sooner. I eat fish and a little bird but her posts about meat cause me to reconsider. Also, you have to love a blogger who has categories for bees and wine and gin.
Both El and Fiona are focused on sustainable living. My third Uber award goes to someone who's focused on sustaining LIFE during challenging times: Cynthia at The Sandwich Life. She's busy, and she should feel no pressure here to go through any rigamarole to forward this award, but I want my readers to hear about her.
Cynthia finds room on her dining room table for her sons' LEGO masterpieces. She and her husband garden and cook celebratory meals from what they've found out there. Cynthia is wicked with her camera. Since her father's death, she's been helping her mom transition. Also, Cynthia's sister Judi has terminal cancer and has recently come to live with Cynthia and family. This descriptive skeleton of her blog is true but she deserves to be heard, all fleshed out. She's real and honest and funny, and it does me good to hear how she navigates her life since I navigate a similar journey.
Okay now. I know that all of you are busy with important things, but I hope that one of you will accept this blog award and pass it on. I will understand if you can't, but I hope you will try. Maybe something unexpected will happen?
Im trilled to receive this award. Thank you!

Cathy, you made me cry!! Good tears though....I am so touched by your words.... Thank you so very much....for reading, for your comments, for your friendship....
and as far as your question on my blog today---how do I move on with gray areas? Well, for better or worse Ive always been good at denial...so I just move on---I dont think its necessarily the best trait but it has come in handy of late....
