Wow. I took more than a week off from posting. I haven't had a lot to say, have been feeling blue, and I'm tired of posting about my woes. However, I didn't realize I'd been "gone" this long. No wonder I feel disconnected!
Here's what I've been doing... This is a picture of my very first Waldorf-ish doll. (Technically, it isn't a Waldorf doll because the eyes are too big, and the mouth shows too much expression.) I will enjoy giving her to E this Christmas, even though E isn't very attached to dolls. I'm very pleased with how this turned out -- for a first try.
I took a class with some other mothers from E's school to learn the techniques for shaping the doll's face. It has been amazing to watch each person's doll develop -- each has a completely different personality because of how the underlayer was tied with yarn. I enjoyed the group effort and watching the other mothers build relationships with their dolls.
I wish I had the skills and patience for crafts like these. Sadly, I have neither. Awesome job!

she's super! And what fun to do it with other women. a waldorf doll was the first thing I ever sewed. I've always wished I could make one in a group setting like that.
