Just when I thought life was hopeless, D suggested an impromtu trip to the coast. We even took the dog.
Oregon is funny. Sometimes the warmest, loveliest days at the coast happen during winter. We drove through snow and thick fog on the way over the hill, but it was gorgeous and warm on the beach.
We had to take off our coats because there as no breeze. Just sun.
It's been quite a while since E has been to the beach. She was very focused on building canals and castles and roads. The last time we were there with her, she was afraid of the sand.
This time, she was afraid of the water... or the feel of the sand pulling away from under her feet with the current. But she braved getting her feet wet in the cold waves a few times. She did better than the dog, who was a pansy about it all -- despite being half-Labradore.
Thank goddess for the waves and sun and salty, wild water. I am refreshed.
what a brilliant idea....it sounds wonderful. Thank you for all your kindness to us....
