President's day in Portland = Plant Peas!
This spot did well last year because the peas got to climb as high as they wanted to. I expanded the space from 4-feet wide to 12-feet this year because I am greedy.
I feel hopeful. I planted a mixture of sugar snap, shell peas, and snow peas.
Can you believe that I got out in the garden with all that's going on? It took a massive amount of energy to get myself to accomplish this symbolic welcome to the new growing year. I really just wanted to hide under the covers.
You could hide under row covers...that way you would have your hands in the Earth AND be under the covers....
