So... the very same 3-day weekend I went to the vine cage workshop, I ended up...
-
keeping up with the laundry
-
finishing a really good book
-
shopping ahead so that everything we needed was at hand
-
making meals without being overly pissy*
-
making beds *wbop
-
weeding a long, wide, brave thicket between the garden and raspberry bushes
-
putting things away in the garden and garage
-
finding things for my mother-in-law
-
cleaning up the kitchen thoroughly, many times *wbop
-
and spending another ten hours on my current maddening creative project -- so that it is done enough for consumption.
What did I learn?
If I give myself time to do something fun, I don't feel trapped in the laundry or the cooking. I *want* to weed the garden because I want my new bean cage to feel happy out there. I enjoy being cooperative at home because I like being me -- a person who just learned how to weave a few branches together.
I need to do this more often.
