This is the morning's haul from the garden. Notice the cabbage -- the very first ever. We had some for dinner. It was okay. I need to work with our cabbage in the future. I was surprised that it formed that much of a head so I feel so though we're "heading" (no pun intended) in the right direction.
You can see the 129 green beans. We ate some for dinner, and I made two quarts of pickled green beans.
This morning I had 3 steamed zucchinis for breakfast, and I'll probably have these two tomorrow for breakfast. I like them. My family doesn't unless I smother them somehow so I'll keep eating these lovely, young things all by myself.
I also taught a really nice woman how to make jam today. She had perfect, lively raspberries, and we turned them into lovely jam.
I'm so jealous of her lively raspberries.... I love raspberries....my father used to have a huge patch in the back of the yard....on a good year we'd get tons and tons....warm from the sun...

That's really the best -- when the berries are warmed from the sun. I'm also realizing how absolutely fragile berries are and how quickly they deteriorate. I'm trying to learn how to pick them carefully enough that they don't need to be washed before they're used in jam or whatever.

Congratulations on your 129 green beans... I have so far harvested exactly 4 green beans. They just aren't growing well for some reason...
