I couldn't put it off any longer.  She's We've reached a point where it's obvious to both of us that I can't play with her in the bestest way.  I'm still good for making cookies and art projects, but I kinda suck at really fun play because I have so much on my mind.

So...  I decided to court disaster (or at least my own fear) and invite two *boys* over for a parent-free play date that included lunch and two snacks.

It went well!  She had fun!  No tears!  I survived!  We're having cold sandwiches for dinner, and I'm letting her watch cartoons now before D comes home, but I managed a successful playtime at our house.  I feel like crying from relief!

If you don't know her real name, can you guess which famous children's book character inspired E's name?  This picture here captures that character better than any other photo I've taken.

My gosh...  she's not yet five years old...  that gray hair is gonna start coming in even faster...
